Charity Knitting- British Legion Poppies

‘In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below’

John McCrae, 1915.

I did a previous post on Charity Knitting here to support Knit-a-Square, this month I decided to support the Royal British Legion Charity by Knitting poppies.

They are very easy to do and you can email laura.bragg16@gmail.com if you’d like the pattern to make some, or you can buy them here and support the Charity (and have a beautiful poppy brooch).

I’m back in England now, as I’m sure you can tell from the rain dotted leaves in the pictures, I’ve been waiting for a small gap in the rain for days to take some pictures- it is not a great welcome back to England!

Though I did discover a new wool and fabric shop in Winchester, C and H Fabrics, I think I have just about doubled my wool stash in the last week!

But with all this cold weather coming in, my mind and needles are racing ahead at the thought of scarves and hats and gloves, so there is something good to come out of this cold weather, don’t you agree?
