Meet George’s Fabric Shop, Limassol

George’s Fabric Shop in Cyprus has got to be one of the best shops I know, it has everything, it does however have everything- all over the place.

These photos are just a small sample of what George has crammed in over two floors.

A bit of netting…

Polka dots anyone?

My favourite colour arranged sections.

A few more polka dots?

Christmas fabric.

Children’s fabric.

The Clearance pile, couldn’t be more of a mess, but there are absolute bargains hidden in there!

The fabric is not as cheap as it used to be, like everything else in the country the Euro made everything very expensive, but I did get some nice cotton prints and found some amazing Austrian Viyella in the clearance pile for £1 a metre, perfect to try out my jacket!

My mum also picked up some pieces of fabric that she wanted me to make into things before I left, I’ve already done this runner for her (fabric at £1 a metre again!) that seems very Christmassy!

In knitting news my blanket has been put on hold as I’ve used all the wool up that I brought out to Cyprus with me, meanwhile I’ve been working on a bag that I now need to sew the lining into, that’s been put on hold though for a last minute birthday present!

  2. Hi there – where exactly in Limassol is this shop? I’d like to have a look. Actually, I realize this post is over three years old, so not sure. Nevertheless if anyone can please advise, I would be grateful.

  3. I have just discovered George’s. It’s an Aladdin’s cave! Also they can order stuff in for you. I am now looking for a good haberdashery locally, can anyone help?

    • Isn’t it great?! I’m not sure about the best haberdashers. Zako’s always have a relatively good selection and they’re all over, but I’m sure there’ll be other more specialist places around too. There’s some lovely new wool shops popping up too if you like wool 🙂
